CLASS OF 1970
ATHLETIC AND ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP

Represented by Class Agent William R. O'Connor '70

The  Class of 1970 Athletic and Academic Scholarship was established in 2006, in conjunction with the Class' upcoming 40th reunion in 2010. The Scholarship will provide grant-in-aid to an incoming Rat athlete who has an accumulated grade point average of at least 2.5 while in high school, with preference given to a (1) football player and (2) a student from the Commonwealth of Virginia. The same student can receive the grant-in-aid provided by this scholarship throughout his cadetship.

Through the establishment of this scholarship, the Class of 1970 wishes to recognize its love for the Virginia Military Institute, its appreciation for the excellent education each Brother Rat received, and its love for VMI Intercollegiate Athletics and the VMI SPIRIT which helped to bond the Class during their cadetships and continues to bond the Class as alumni.

Cadet Damiso M. Alexander '10 is recognized in the name of
the Class of 1970 Athletic and Academic Scholarship
for the 2007-08 school year.
