Endowed Scholarship Fund - Football
The Charles S. Luck, Jr. '20 Memorial Scholarship was established by his son, Charles S. Luck III '55, and provides assistance to a First Class cadet who has lettered in football, with preference given to an athlete from the Richmond, Virginia, area. Charles Luck, Jr., matriculated at VMI from Ashland, Virginia, and attended the Institute for two years. He was chairman of Luck Quarries, Inc., in Richmond, at the time of his death in July 1972. His son, Charles Luck III, graduated from VMI with a BS degree in civil engineering, and took over the management of the family business. Mr. Luck '55 was a member of the VMI Board of Visitors from 1970-78, the Keydet Club Board of Governors from 1978-81, the Foundation Board of Trustees from 1987-1995, and the VMI Alumni Association Board of Directors from 1965-70.
