SCHOLARSHIP

The Class of 1931 Woods G. Talman, Jr. Scholarship was established at the request of LG George R.E. Shell '31 on the occasion of his retirement as VMI Superintendent in 1971.

The scholarship honors the late Class President Woods G. Talman '31 in the name of of his son who has been severely cerebral palsied since birth. The late Talman '31 was a past president of the Keydet Club Board of Governors and was inducted into the VMI Sports Hall of Fame in 1972.

The scholarship provides grant-in-aid to an athlete who has demonstrated leadership ability.
