Endowed Scholarship Fund - Track

HILL B. WELLFORD '34
TRACK SCHOLARSHIP

The H. B. Wellford '34 Track Scholarship was established in 1983 to provide grant-in-aid for a track athlete at VMI. The late Mr. Wellford established this scholarship as part of his class' 50th reunion fund.

Hill B. Wellford matriculated at VMI from Warsaw, Virginia, and graduated with his Class of 1922 with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He was a member of the VMI Track team for all four years of his cadetship.

Prior to his retirement, Wellford worked as a sales representative for E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Co.

He and his wife Mitty had two sons: William and Hill, Jr. '64. He died in September 1993.
