Abney S. Boxley '25

The Abney S. Boxley, Sr. '25 Memorial Scholarship was established in 1975 by his Brother Rats to provide grant-in-aid to a cadet-athlete who is an upperclassman, preferably from Roanoke or a civil engineering major.

Boxley matriculated at VMI from Roanoke, Virginia, and graduated with a BS degree in civil engineering.

He was president of Blue Ridge Stone Quarry in Roanoke, and died in August 1975.

Boxley was a beloved member of  his class, and served his alma mater as a member of the VMI Board of Visitors from 1948-56.
